Living a moral, decent, upstanding life is good... but not good enough. Going to church is good... but not good enough. Donating your money to charity is good... but not good enough.
Trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ... He's already paid the price for your sin, my sin, and the sins of the entire world. God's plan is simple.
You need to recognize that you are a sinner. We all are. The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 3:23-25 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." He also writes, "There is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3:10)
There is a penalty for sin. Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
You need to realize that Jesus Christ has provided a way for our salvation. Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, was born of the virgin Mary, lived some thirty years, teaching and preaching to all those around him. He was nailed to a cross at Calvary where he was tortured, mocked, and died... He died to atone ("pay for") for the sins of all mankind. That includes you and me.
The response to this gift. Romans 10:9-10 says "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
If so, great! If not, you can ask him into your heart right now! You need to simply ask God for his forgiveness, repent of your sins, and trust in Him!
"Lord Jesus, I'm a sinner. I realize that something is missing in my life. I believe that you died on Calvary's cross and arose on the third day. I believe that you paid the price that I couldn't pay through the blood you shed on that cross. I ask that you forgive me of my sins and come into my life as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
If you prayed to receive Christ and really meant it in your heart, the Bible says that you are a new person. God's word says that He "will never leave you nor forsake you." I hope that you have trusted in Him. If so, tell someone you know about what Jesus has done in your life! Also, email us so we can know of the wonderful decisions you made.
